I’m Ivan Lara, Founder of SoCalProjectPermits (SCPP). Born in Michoacán, Mexico and raised in San Pedro, California, I bring my roots into every project — discipline, perseverance, and execution.
Sports shaped my drive early on. I was Varsity Captain of San Pedro Senior High’s soccer team, and in 2009 I walked onto the UCSB Men’s Club Soccer team. By 2011, we became Aztec Champions at San Diego State University. Competing at that level taught me how to lead under pressure and work relentlessly toward big goals.
This combination of academic research and professional training gave me the technical and management foundation I use today.
I began processing solar permits in 2014 across Southern California. By 2018, I was managing large volumes of tenant improvements and new construction projects, gaining experience in:
From solar fields to $160M+ studio projects, We've navigated permit acquisition, entitlements, permit expediting, due diligence, and project management across Los Angeles and Southern California.
Throughout my career, I realized the real challenge in development wasn’t the construction itself — it was navigating the layers of permits, entitlements, and approvals.
I built SoCalProjectPermits to be that missing bridge: a firm that combines blue-collar field experience with white-collar project management. My goal has always been simple — to help developers, architects, and contractors cut through the noise, meet deadlines, and bring their projects to life with confidence.
SCPP exists to move projects forward — from entitlements to permits to construction — with precision, strategy, and execution.
At SoCalProjectPermits, we’ve built our reputation on bridging the gap between field experience and project management expertise. Whether you’re planning a tenant improvement, ground-up development, or simply need clarity before you invest, we’re here to guide you through every step. Ready to move your project forward?
